Tonight begins the festival of Purim. It is a Jewish holiday that commemorates the miraculous events that are recorded in the Book of Esther. Purim is a lively celebration where adults and children dress up in costumes, hamantaschen (three-cornered pastries with a sweet or fruit filling) are eaten, the Book of Esther is read, mishloach manot (gift baskets of food) are given to friends and family, and donations are made to the poor. Queen Esther real name was Hadassah in the Bible and the festival to commemorate her risking her life to save her people was called Purim. This is a video I put together to tell the testimony how my daughter was born on this exact day, but the miraculous thing was that we had her name picked out before she was conceived. I don’t know what destiny or great things God has in store for her life but I hope she goes further than me! I could never understand parents who don’t want more for their kids
