Creating Transitions at the Headstock and Heel I like using a 4-in-1 hand rasp for this work. This rasp has both course and fine surfaces as well as flat and curved surfaces. The curved surfaces work perfectly for this task, and of course I use the coarse surface to remove the bulk of the material and then smooth everything out with the finer side.
