This helps them move about the lower Florida Keys pretty easily, although they prefer to stay on the islands that have natural freshwater wetlands. Teamwork- Two days ago we heard about a Key deer that was entangled/trapped in a fence. Wildlife officers responded and the deer was removed but was lethargic and unable to move. USFWS wildlife officers passed the Key deer along to the Key Deer Refuge’s local volunteer veterinarian who treated it with fluids, and gave it a cool quiet place to rest.
