The fourth-seeded Las Vegas Aces will face the top-seeded New York Liberty in a WNBA Finals rematch from last season, while the third-seeded Connecticut Sun play the fourth-seeded Minnesota Lynx in the other best-of-five series.

After a 2-9 start, Indiana made quick progress on those fronts. The Fever won seven more games than last season, breaking a seven-year playoff drought. They finished in the top half of league standings and were a trendy pick to upset Connecticut in the first round, or at least take a game from the Sun.

Alyssa Thomas and the Connecticut Sun closed out their opening-round playoff series against Clark and the Indiana Fever on Wednesday night. The Sun held on in a tight battle in the final minutes to grab a 87-81 win over the Fever at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, in Game 2 of their series.
