Rain totals Thursday on the Treasure Coast were far less than had been predicted, with wind being the far bigger impact from Hurricane Helene.

As Hurricane Helene — now a Category 4 storm — moves toward Florida's Big Bend, the Treasure Coast is still feeling some light winds, with stronger gusts and isolated rainfall Thursday evening. The Treasure Coast saw tornado watches lifted for Indian River, St. Lucie and Martin counties at 8 p.m. by the National Weather Service in Melbourne.

Hurricane Helene is bringing the threat of tornadoes and severe weather to the Treasure Coast throughout Thursday as indirect effects from its outer bands, according to the National Weather Service.
