Tesco will be closed on Christmas Day and will be adjusting its opening hours for the days around it - here's everything you need to know if need to make a last-minute dash to the shop

Some stores may even open early, while others may be operating with limited hours due to Boxing Day’s status as a public holiday. So, as you prepare to trade in your wrapping paper for a shopping bag, read on to find out when your favourite shops will be welcoming bargain hunters on Boxing Day.

On Boxing Day - Thursday, December 26, supermarkets will be open from 9am to 6pm and convenience stores from 9am to 9pm. From Friday, December 27, to Monday, December 30, stores will operate normal hours. On New Year's Eve, supermarkets will be open from 10am to 7pm and convenience stores from 6am to 9pm.

Sainsbury’s stores will close only on Christmas Day. According to a spokesperson, the “vast majority” of supermarkets and convenience stores will be open from 6am to 11pm between Wednesday, December 18, and Monday, December 23. Here are the opening hours over the festive period.
