EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers eliminated the Los Angeles Kings with a 6-4 win in Game 6 of the Western Conference First Round at Rogers Place on Thursday. The Oilers, who won the final four games of the series, have eliminated the Kings in the first round in four consecutive seasons.

The Kings haven’t won a Game 6 to stave off elimination since 2014. That’s when they beat San Jose in the first round to cap off a stunning reverse sweep after being down 3-0 in the series. They also beat the Anaheim Ducks in the second round after trailing 3-2. That championship year remains their last set of playoff series victories.

Well. What an intense week that was, huh? The Edmonton Oilers won four straight games from Games 3 to 6 to take a fourth consecutive first-round series against the Los Angeles Kings.
