Basketball player and rapper LiAngelo Ball has signed an $8 million deal with music company Def Jam Recordings following his hit track Tweaker.

Boosie Badazz and Moneybagg Yo have expressed interest in hopping on the remix for the song, which has proven to be a Spotify hit.

It didn't take long for former Charlotte Hornet s forward LiAngelo Ball to become a big-time hit in the music industry. On January 3rd, Ball released his debut single, "Tweaker," which has blossomed into one of the most popular songs in the world.

LiAngelo Ball just inked a new contract with Def Jam and Universal Music Group which is worth as much as $13 million, but with $8 million guaranteed.

LiAngelo Ball is expanding his life playbook, taking a pivot from his hoop dreams to a fresh focus on music with a new record deal. Ball signed with Def Jam and Universal Music Group, a representative from the label confirmed Monday.
