A tourist from Missouri accused of burning down several businesses in southwestern Puerto Rico in a high-profile case that sparked a backlash against unruly visitors in the U.S. territory has been indicted by a federal grand jury.

SAN JUAN - Danielle Bertothy, of St. Peters, Missouri, an American tourist accused of setting fire to several businesses in southwestern Puerto Rico was arrested and then indicted by a federal grand jury from the District of Puerto Rico late Thursday afternoon.

Danielle Bertothy was indicted Thursday on arson charges after authorities said she started a fire at a bar in Cabo Rojo that also charred a retail store, restaurant and hotel.
