Shelby Township police were called to Lakeside Park Apartments around 6:30 a.m. Saturday, July 19, regarding a suspicious circumstance after a 911 hangup. Inside the apartment, officers discovered the deceased woman and began investigating her death as a homicide. It’s still unclear how the woman died.

At around 9:20 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to 800 Washington Avenue, where they were called for a welfare check.

The 42-year-old officer was in stable condition Sunday and expected to survive. A spokesperson for the NYPD said there was no indication that the shooting was politically motivated.

The crash occurred at the intersection of South Airport Boulevard and Alameda Parkway. A 37-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl were killed in the crash, and the 18-year-old who allegedly killed them is in the hospital.
