The storm surge, wind damage and inland flooding from Hurricane Helene have been catastrophic, flooding neighborhoods, stranding residents and destroying homes in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee. More than 130 people have been killed, according to The Associated Press.

Americans in the Southeast are digging out from Hurricane Helene's destruction and subsequent storm damages estimated to be in the billions of dollars. At least 100 have died as flooding, storm surges and other storm effects are being blamed for the growing death toll.
