Prime Minister Justin Trudeau posted a final message to Canadian citizens, a bit of a pep talk amid Donald Trump’s threats of ever-more punitive tariffs and talk of the country becoming the U.S.’s 51st state.

On his last day in office, outgoing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau shared a farewell message to the country, vowing to always remain "unapologetically and boldly" Canadian. In a video posted on X with the caption,

Justin Trudeau asserted his Canadian identity in his final message on the last day of his term. The Canadian prime minister's assertion comes amid repeated calls from US president Donald Trump to annex the neighbouring country and his jibes referring to him as “Governor Trudeau.
