John Sykes, the electrifying guitarist who rocked the world in legendary bands Whitesnake and Thin Lizzy, has died at 65.

Guitarist John Sykes died earlier this month after a battle with cancer. He was 65.

The renowned guitarist played with several successful bands from the 1980s including Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy and Tygers of Pan Tang.

John Sykes, who played guitar with rock bands Thin Lizzy and Whitesnake, has died. He was 65. The Reading -born musician was known for playing on hit songs including the massively popular 1987 re-recording of Whitesnake power ballad “Here I Go Again.”
