One person is dead and another person is behind bars after a fight over a road rage incident escalated into a stabbing in Turlock late Friday night, police said.

A “brief verbal altercation” related to a road rage incident at a Turlock apartment complex Friday night escalated to a physical confrontation and resulted in a man being fatally stabbed, according to police. Turlock police officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of West Monte Vista Avenue — near the complex — around 10:30 p.m.

Turlock Police Detectives quickly took over the investigation and established that the incident stemmed from a brief verbal altercation related to road rage at a nearby apartment complex. The confrontation escalated to a physical altercation, culminating in the stabbing.
