Quarterback Ian Book, a former fourth-round draft pick of Sean Payton’s, is attending Denver’s rookie minicamp as a veteran tryout player.

Ridder was the Atlanta Falcons' third-round draft choice in 2022 and became their starting QB in 2023 but it's been a struggle since then, getting traded last year to Arizona, then released, then picked up by the Raiders, who didn't renew his contract.

With Desmond Ridder backing out of his tryout at Broncos rookie minicamp, the club is bringing in a quarterback who has been with head coach Sean Payton before.
