When Samsung unveiled the world’s first 27-inch 4K gaming OLED monitor on Thursday, Engadget’s Igor Bonifacic predicted that other vendors would soon follow suit. (After all, Samsung is also the biggest supplier of OLED gaming monitor panels.

Just a few days after LG announced its CES 2025 lineup of monitors, Samsung is doing the same. The company just introduced several new models, and perhaps the most impressive among them is the Odyssey OLED G81SF.

Like MSI and Asus previously announced, Samsung has new offerings that can hit as much as 500Hz of refresh. There’s also a new 27-inch 4K panel, if you’re more interested in high-res gameplay.

Ahead of CES 2025, LG has announced new extra-large additions to its line of UltraGear GX9 OLED gaming monitors: one being a massive, 45-inch display with a bendable panel, and the other, a 39-inch “smart” gaming monitor with webOS built-in.

Samsung has announced its new monitor lineup for 2025, including the Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF), which is said to be the world's first 27-inch 4K OLED gaming monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate. This announcement comes alongside (or even before) similar reveals from other manufacturers like MSI, which also unveiled a monitor with similar specifications.

The LG Ultragear GX9 45GX990A will launch along with two other brand new LG OLED gaming monitors at the CES 2025 trade show next week.

The Alienware AW3423DWF is a curved 34" with a 3440x1440 WQHD resolution, 0.03ms response time, and 165Hz refresh rate. It uses a Samsung quantum dot OLED panel that's brighter and supports a wider color range than traditional OLED panels without losing the incredible black levels and instantaneous response times that OLEDs are known for.
