Get ready to celebrate Women’s History Month in Dallas-Fort Worth this March. There are inspiring events across North Texas that highlight the achievements, voices and stories of women who continue to shape our world.

These notable women include a circus star, influential authors, famous singer/actress, Florida's first woman voter and Seminoles' first woman chair.

Following a petition from the National Women’s History Project, Congress designated the whole month of March 1987 as “Women’s History Month.” Congress continued to pass resolutions between 1988 and 1994 asking and authorizing the President to proclaim March of each year as Women’s History Month.
