A school bond vote for Sergeant Bluff-Luton Community School District has failed, according to unofficial election results.

Property owners would pay 99 cents per $1,000 of assessed property taxes for 21 years for the $40 million bond for a new community center.

The community college school district said the money from the bond would modernize buildings and pay for construction of a science lab in Woodburn.

A school bond vote of $11.9 million bond for Hinton Community School District has failed, according to unofficial election results. The bond needed 60% to pass. Hinton residents are voting on a $11.

The money raised via the bond would be used for several additions and upgrades including 3 new elementary school playgrounds.
