The pilots of a Delta Air Lines flight landing in Boston were ordered to perform a go-around on Oct. 30 because another aircraft was cleared to takeoff from an intersecting runway, the FAA has confirmed.
Controllers ordered the Delta flight to go around to avoid the Cape Air plane, which had been cleared to take off from an intersecting runway.
Runway 27 is undergoing a major safety upgrade to install an engineered materials arresting system, otherwise known as an EMAS.
