A Chicago man has been charged with murder after fatally shooting a 27-year-old man in the Chatham neighborhood, according to Chicago police.

Fraternal Order of Police President John Catanzara told the Sun-Times the wounded officer was "breathing on his own for a little while" and was showing "some positive physical reactions" and "some reaction to conversation around him.
