The AP top 25 rankings will be released later Sunday. Other SEC teams ranked include No. 3 Georgia, No. 4 LSU, No. 7 Texas, No. 10 South Carolina, No. 13 Ole Miss, No. 15 Tennessee, No. 16 Oklahoma and No. 17 Texas A&M. Alabama is scheduled to face Georgia, LSU, South Carolina, Tennessee and Oklahoma this season.

The Crimson Tide returned home and beat Louisiana Monroe 73-0 on Saturday, Sept. 6, at Bryant-Denny Stadium. It was Alabama 's first 70-plus-point game since its 77-6 win over Virginia Tech on Oct. 27, 1973. It also appears to be Alabama's largest margin of victory since its Sept. 21, 1951, win against Delta State that ended 89-0.
