Lee County rivals Auburn and Opelika have met 100 previous times, but only once in the playoffs. Until this week. The Bulldogs will travel to meet the Tigers on Friday in the Class 7A semifinals with the winner advancing to play either Thompson or Central-Phenix City in the state championship game.

An announcement was just made that the Auburn football program will play Notre Dame in a home-and-home matchup in the 2027 season and the 2028 season as part of their out of conference schedule.
