Not only is McCarthy 1-0 in his NFL career, but he also made a little bit of history as well. He became the first player in NFL history to score account for three touchdowns in the fourth quarter of his NFL debut, per the "Monday Night Football" broadcast.

McCarthy completed his only pass attempt in the first quarter. Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell just told ESPN that he likes McCarthy's demeanor and that the rest of the team -- him included -- needs to step up around him. He specifically said that the Vikings need to do a better job protecting him.

McCarthy went into halftime having thrown for just 52 yards and no touchdowns on 5-of-8 passing as the Vikings trailed 10-6. Things didn't improve much in the third quarter as he threw a pick-six, but he came to life in the fourth and finished with 143 passing yards, 25 rushing yards and two total touchdowns.
