The Knicks have been mediocre for a long while now, and the players believe they are not playing at their level.

After entering the game on a two-game losing streak, the Phoenix Suns were able to get back in the win column as they narrowly beat the short-handed New York Knicks 106-99 at the Garden on Saturday night.

Look no further than the beating they took in Golden State, a game in which the band of good-not-great shooters on the Warriors rode the Knicks' "defense" to 20 long-range makes on 45 tries. That's a 44.4% success rate.

Knicks head coach Mike Brown did not have Jalen Brunson or Josh Hart at his disposal and without much contribution from their bench, New York fell to the Suns 106-99. Brown however, attributed the loss more to his team allowing too many second-chance points combined with committing 17 turnovers.

New York didn’t lose the game because Towns didn’t get back on that one play; they lost it well before then. The Kings got out to a 12-6 lead and never looked back, running out to a 20-point lead at one point and staying ahead for a good portion of the second half. The Knicks started the game not defending, and ended the game not defending.

The two teams square off for the second time this season. The Suns defeated the Knicks 112-107 in their last meeting on Jan. 10. Devin Booker led the Suns with 31 points, and Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 27 points.
