A woman from Cornwall is running the London Marathon to raise money for research into childhood cancers as a tribute to her daughter. Eight-year-old Bonnie, from Probus, near Truro, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, an aggressive bone cancer, just before Christmas 2023.

The Brunel pub offers outdoor seating in its dog-friendly beer garden, perfect to watch the marathon runners whiz by. This pub isn’t directly on the London Marathon route, but it’s close enough that you should be able to pop in for a swiftie without missing too much of the action.

Osteoporosis sufferer Derek Wylks who fractured three vertebrae in his back is running the London Marathon on Sunday for the Royal Osteoporosis Society.
