Jon Stewart rips Paramount and CBS in profanity-laden diatribe after ‘Late Show' cancellation
Jon Stewart lambasted CBS’ decision to cancel “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert," ripping their shared parent company for what he called a capitulation to Trump.
In a fiery Daily Show monologue, Jon Stewart blasted CBS and Paramount over the decision to axe The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Colbert announced last week that the next season of The Late Show would be the last as Paramount had decided to axe the show as part of a “financial decision.
In his first episode since announcing the cancellation of "Late Show," Stephen Colbert had choice words for Trump, who'd celebrated the news.
Given that the last “celebrity” in the crowd was a cartoon Donald Trump, seemingly drawn in the style of the Colbert-produced Tooning Out The News, Miranda said, “Tell me this has nothing to do with who we just put a spotlight on.”
This article was amended the day of publication. It previously stated that Jon Stewart shared his fears for The Daily Show after The Late Show had been canceled. This was inaccurate, Stewart spoke before The Late Show announcement had been made. A Late Show OG has entered the chat.
