Ford Motor Co, has recalled 850,000 trucks, SUVs and cars due to issues with the vehicles' fuel pumps, including the popular F-150 pickup and the S550 Mustang, the company announced.

Ford advises that drivers may experience poor engine performance (misfiring or running rough), a check-engine light, or a reduction in engine power before the pump fails. The fuel-pump failure is more likely to occur in low fuel or warm weather and hot fuel conditions in the fuel tank.

Ford is recalling 850,318 cars because of a low-pressure fuel pump failure problem that can cause the engine to stall while driving, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration wrote in a recall notice.
